The Ice Eater Adjustable Thermostat Controller provides automatic temperature-based control for compatible 115V Ice Eater de-icers. Instead of running your de-icer continuously throughout the winter, the thermostat automatically switches power on and off as outdoor temperatures change.
This makes it a convenient addition to a dock, boat or pond de-icing system and can help reduce unnecessary de-icer run time during periods of warmer winter weather.
Automatic De-Icer Control
Set the desired temperature and the thermostat automatically controls your
Ice Eater as outdoor temperatures rise and fall. This helps keep your de-icer
ready for freezing weather without requiring continuous manual operation.
How the Ice Eater Thermostat Works
The thermostat is installed between a properly protected electrical supply and the Ice Eater. Once the desired temperature is selected, the controller responds automatically to changes in ambient air temperature.
When temperatures fall to the selected operating range, the controller supplies power to the de-icer. As temperatures rise, it can shut the de-icer off, helping avoid unnecessary operation during warmer weather.
Why Add a Thermostat to Your Ice Eater?
Winter temperatures rarely remain constant. A de-icer may be needed during a period of severe cold and then be unnecessary when temperatures climb well above freezing a few days later.

Adjustable Temperature Control
The 115V Power House thermostat provides an adjustable temperature range from 0°F to 80°F, allowing the operating point to be set according to your application and winter conditions.
The appropriate setting can vary with local weather, water conditions and the structure being protected. Periodically inspect the de-iced area throughout the winter and adjust operation as conditions change.

Compatible With 115V Ice Eater De-Icers
This 115V thermostat is designed for compatible Power House Ice Eater de-icers, making it a useful accessory for P500, P750 and P1000 installations using the appropriate 115V configuration.
Always verify the electrical requirements of the de-icer and controller before installation and connect the equipment to a properly installed GFCI-protected electrical supply.
Don't Set It and Forget It
A thermostat makes de-icer operation more convenient, but winter conditions still need to be monitored. Extended periods of extreme cold, high winds or rapidly forming ice may require more de-icer operation than normal conditions.
Periodically inspect the dock, boat or structure being protected and make sure the de-icer is maintaining the necessary water movement and open-water area.
