Kasco 8400JF 2 HP Decorative Pond Fountain

The Kasco 8400JF is a 2 HP decorative fountain designed for pond owners who want a larger, more impressive water display with the flexibility to change its appearance. Rather than limiting you to one fixed pattern, the J Series includes five interchangeable fountain nozzles, giving you several display styles from a single fountain.

The standard 8400JF offered here operates on 208–240V single-phase power and includes a 50-foot power cord. Longer cord lengths are available when the electrical source is farther from the pond.

Five Fountain Patterns Included

The 8400JF includes five interchangeable patterns ranging from tall, narrow displays to broad patterns that cover considerably more of the pond surface. This makes the 8400JF a good choice when appearance matters and you want the ability to change the look of the fountain without purchasing another fountain or motor.

• Birch: approximately 11' high × 10' wide
• Spruce: approximately 21' high × 10' wide
• Redwood: approximately 22' high × 6' wide
• Linden: approximately 15.5' high × 38' wide
• Balsam: approximately 14' high × 32' wide

The very different height and width of these patterns is one of the biggest advantages of choosing a Kasco J Series fountain. You can select a tall vertical display for visibility or switch to a much wider pattern when that better suits the pond and surrounding landscape.

Is the 8400JF the Right Size for Your Pond?

Kasco suggests the 2 HP 8400JF for ponds up to approximately 1 surface acre. That is a useful starting point, but acreage alone shouldn't determine fountain selection. Pond shape, depth, desired display size and the location from which the fountain will be viewed should also be considered.

The 8400JF requires a minimum operating depth of approximately 20 inches. Because several of its patterns are quite wide, also consider the available open-water area when choosing both the fountain location and display pattern.

Decorative Fountain or Aerating Fountain?

The 8400JF does provide water movement and oxygen transfer as water is projected into the air and returned to the pond. However, its primary advantage is its decorative versatility.

If your main objective is maximum water movement and aeration rather than multiple fountain patterns, a Kasco VFX aerating fountain may be the better choice. If appearance and the ability to change display patterns are important, the 8400JF is an excellent option.
